PHOTO ESSAY: Germany 2019

During the fourth quarter of 2019, I worked as a photojournalist for HNA Newspaper in Kassel, Germany. During this extraordinary experience, I wrote and completed the photography and stories for numerous articles, wrote an oped each week for the Editorial section, and completed the photography for several of my colleagues’ stories.

I also created a photo essay from assignment and non-assignment images. Following is a link to the essay and accompanying captions. [Click inside the comment box to read the entire caption].

Instagram: New Name, New Start

For me and so many others, 2020 has necessitated a commitment to rediscover and rekindle joy and hope.

In my search for a response to 2020’s trauma and heartache, I discovered fresh opportunities by making new photographs. Through this renewed passion for my photography, I found a voice to speak to this year’s sorrow with images that reflect life-essential joy and hope.

One happy place I chose to express this voice is on my Instagram, which I renamed and relaunched after a nearly two-year hiatus.

The new Insta: @planet.heart.soul

In addition to the new Instagram, I created an extensive new body of botanical work and have many projects underway for these images – which I will share in upcoming posts.
