Mornings

Mornings are so quiet.
Hounded by the flagrant silence shouting from every corner,
I’m consumed by thoughts of just how quiet it is.
I make my way, from room to room, in a morning routine.
Conspicuous silence rumbles the walls,
Allayed only by the sound of my voice in daily prayer.
