Little Child

Little child with turquoise eyes,

flying down the lane

in a periwinkle sweatshirt

with a white unicorn. You laugh

racing your purple tricycle – so?joyful,?

and cheering just because I?m home.

What a happy yellow-sun, blue-sky day

little child.?

You shine a light into the black cavern

my own child left behind.
